Integrated Ministries Team from Roseburg, Oregon - Friday, October 31, 2008

CRTTO4.jpgOn October 1st, an Integrated Ministries Team from Roseburg, Oregon arrived in San Jose, Costa Rica.  The group of 17 came for two purposes:  to help in the final construction phase of the Regional Office building and to assist the district in the church plant Maximum Mission activities in the area of Tres Rios.  They completed both missions and here are a few highlights.

Maximum Mission Ometepe Island, Nicaragua - Tuesday, September 09, 2008

DSNOM3.jpgA Jesus Film/Integrated Ministries Team from Yakima, Washington arrived to Managua, Nicaragua on August 22nd.  The team ministered on the Island of Ometepe, located in Lake Nicaragua, the largest lake in Central America and the largest freshwater island in the world.

Integrated Ministry Church Planting Chulateca Honduras - Tuesday, September 09, 2008

EVANH.jpgA group from the mid-west in the US, came to do an Integrated Ministry Church Planting project in Chulateca Honduras. The team came from the states, Wisconsin, Ohio, and Illinois, and they partnered with the Honduras district and MAC evangelism team to plant a new mission. There were activities, such as: restoring a country school, medical clinics, Vacation Bible School, Personal Evangelism with the EvangeCube, and the Jesus Film. In the end, a new church was planted.

Maximum Mission Venado, Costa Rica - Tuesday, September 09, 2008

CRVMM2.jpgAn Integrated Ministries Team from Carlsbad, CA (Las Flores) arrived on August 5th to assist in church planting efforts in a remote community called Venado, located two km from the Pacific in the northwest part of Costa Rica.  This community of 300 people had no church until a small cell group was formed with leadership from the Liberia Church of the Nazarene, located 45 minutes away.

A great pastor passed away - Friday, August 22, 2008

Honduras Maxima Mission - Wednesday, August 13, 2008

MMHond4.jpgFrom July 11 through 19, 2008 our team of 16 people spent time in two communities of Honduras.  The first was called Villa de San Francisco, with a population of about 1600, and the second was Cofradía, with about 300 people.  The team consisted of five people 
from  Mexico, one from Guatemala, nine from the United States, and one missionary.

Refocusing Seminar In the Mexico Northeast District - Wednesday, August 13, 2008

RMonterrey.jpgRev. Arturo Bernal, DS, and his wife Esther, organized the Refocusing Seminar in the Mexico Northeast District. Their purpose was that each pastor get to know the strategy of Refocusing and that this be utilized in the development of the church. Before the seminar, all the pastors received a copy of the book Falling in Love with the church, by Larry McKain, and they were motivated to read and answer the questions at the end of the chapters.

Feeding Program in Guatemala - Friday, July 04, 2008

MNCGPA1.jpgIn order to help alleviate some of the hunger crisis in Guatemala, Nazarene Compassionate Ministries is developing a program in ten communities in the North Transversal District to help feed the people. The hunger in these areas is a result of high unemployment and loss of crops do to natural disasters such as droughts and floods.

Superintendent's Retreat- MAC Region - Friday, July 04, 2008

DS08.jpgThe theme for this year’s annual superintendents’ retreat was “a victorious life in leadership.” Most of the superintendents and their wives from each of the seven countries around the region traveled to the Nazarene Theological Seminary in Guatemala City where the retreat was held. The Field Strategy Coordinators and their wives from around the MAC region also attended.
